Edera / Ivy (lat. hedera helix, greek kissos) has been a symbol of passion and love since ancient times, before the greeks and latins, to whom it owes its names, created myths and characters braided with it. It is a feminine symbol: it expresses passion, bonding, fidelity. The Ivy’s embrace is love and growth together: it winds clockwise following the course of the sunlight, it brings good luck and is therefore still given as a good omen of lasting love.
Film photography needs light, external light to expose the negative and internal light because it is not just a mechanical gesture but a way of feeling, of experiencing reality.
It is knowing how to tell a story slowly, without giving in to the excess and frenzy of digital photography, concentrating all the unrepeatable emotion of the moment into fewer shots.
The different film formats, the intense colours, the magic of Polaroid, the anxious wait for the film to develop and that irresistible “click” that only analogue cameras really make are the traits that distinguish the photographing’way of Edera Wedding Studio.
